I don't read comic books at all, so it was a good experience reading through the comic book not just looking at the pictures only . This comic book "The Sandman " by Neil Gaiman was something I had to read a second time. At first I was interested in trying to figure out the meaning of the pictures than what the words meant. Comic books are meant for entertainment. There's a type of comic book for everyone. The most read ones are the Marvel comic books. In this comic book all the characters were put under a spell so they won't dream or have nightmares. These people just slept throughout the whole day. This makes me think that dreaming and nightmares are important to us. When having a nightmare people tend to wake up scared , but once woken up they notice it was just a nightmare and they are okay. This gives us a sense of realism. The characters were asleep for decades because they didn't have nothing to take them back to the real world.

Legends have been told for many years, however some legends are modify to fit the audience. Since some are told orally things can be retold differently and there's a new legends created. Native Americans had their own traditions. Society might see their tradition weird now, since time has changed. Native American's used nature to their advantage. Medicine, stories, protection, etc. It's important for legends to be retold because we don't want these stories to die out. These legends that are retold in the reading were very interesting. The one I liked the most was "When Grizzlies Walked Upright" it talks about how the Mount Shasta was created. Also how birds, fish, trees, and plants. Overall how nature was created. This legend might be important to them because they care and use nature in many ways.
